UK leader Prestige puts sustainabilty at the top of its agenda.
The world is getting warmer. The summer of 2022 saw record-high temperatures peak at more than 40 degrees and there’s no doubt climate change is becoming a reality. Now is the time to act – not only in the interest of our business, but our customers expect it too.
Prestige recently completed a green audit of its procurement policies and has published four policies which are now embedded into the business.
These are:
1) To buy locally to reduce carbon emissions through delivery
2) Source from companies who themselves have robust sustainability credentials
3) Use renewable energy
4) Where possible, use recycled materials
Head of Procurement, Gary Hill, said: “At Prestige we take our commitment to sustainability very seriously indeed. We accept that success will not be achieved overnight rather this is a long-term undertaking to choose more sustainable products and services where possible without compromising on quality”
“We also accept that our customers are voting with their feet. Quite rightly they are concerned about the effects of climate change, and they are increasingly reluctant to buy products that don’t have sustainability credentials.”

How Prestige is embedding sustainability into its business on a day-to-day basis:
Locally Based Chassis Manufacturing
To facilitate and consolidate our orders in a sustainable manner, our chassis manufacturers extended their operations to include a regional manufacturing facility with investment to expand the facility. All our chassis are supplied from the regional facility, enabling bulk manufacturing with reduced transportation requirements.
Sustainably Sourced Scandinavian Timber
Our timber is sourced for its integrity, quality and sustainability. Our Timber suppliers, International Timber, are the UK’s leading importer of PEFC certified timber products, ensuring that our timber is sourced from sustainably managed forests, helping protect the world's forests.
The timber is processed and finished by our skilled team at our dedicated Mill, here at our Rushden facilities.

A More Sustainable Night’s Sleep
Our mattress supplier achieved carbon neutrality in 2017 and holds a Royal Warrant from His Majesty King Charles III, demonstrating the highest standards of excellence, quality and service, and ensuring comfort for our customers.
Helping Our Customers to Achieve a Greener Future
All our homes are insulated with Knauf Insulation products made from fully recycled glass fibre certified through the International EPD System and designed to reduce energy usage for homeowners. We bulk order all supplies to reduce the impact of transport emissions on the environment.
Durable and Ecological
Plastic are one of the most impacting materials used in construction. To minimize the environmental impact, our cladding is sourced from Vinylit (part of the Veka Group) and our windows are sourced from Prestige Plastics, located just over the road from our Rushden Facilities and part of the Veka Independent Network.
The granules and plastics used to make Vinylit are made of recycled materials. Waste materials produced at both Vinylit and Prestige Plastics are recycled at a local facility or reintegrated into their production system for reuse.
