Material Handler

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Creating dream homes requires our expert teams working closely together, a key part to this is getting the right materials to be in the right place at the right time. As part of our skilled Production team, we’re looking for a Material Handler to ensure the smooth running of our state of the art production facility in Rushden by supporting our Production Management team and Team Leaders in getting the right materials for each home in the right place ready for each manufacturing process.

Day to day you’ll be supporting our production Team Leaders to arrange stock transfers and maintain material picks, also ensuring the correct levels of consumables are available across our production lines. You’ll also work closely with our Inventory and Procurement teams to help with accurately checking goods received along with their quality and quantities. This is a hands on role where you’ll be physically moving materials as well as working with the required colleagues for heavy and bulky items. You’ll also;
  • Ensure the correct stock is available
  • Arrange returns for excess or damaged stock, arranging replacements where required
  • Accurately enter pick orders to stores
  • Work from production plans to forecast required materials
  • Work closely with the Materials Controller to help develop and improve our current processes
  • Support the development of KPIs

Am I right the right person for this job?
You’ll have previous materials handling experience, ideally from within the manufacturing industry, with an understanding of the importance of having the right materials in place at the right time. You’ll need to be a confident communicator with the ability to challenge others where required. This isn’t a desk based role so you’ll be happy spending your time across different areas of our production and stores facilities, which could involve being outside to receive goods/materials. Strong attention to detail will also be key to help reduce material shortages along with having a good understanding of basic IT and software packages such as MS Office.

Dryliner / Plasterboarder

We have opportunities for skilled Dryliners / Interior Boarders to join our team in either our Kettering or Rushden production facilities and to share in our success as we continue to challenge the industry norm and drive for quality and innovation excellence.

Working on modern domestic modular build homes and lodges, you’ll cover all aspects of plaster boarding including filling, sanding and patchwork providing a quality finish ready for painting and decorating.

Cleaner (Park Homes & Lodges)

This isn’t your average cleaning job, working from our purpose built production facility in Rushden, we’ve got the opportunity to join us a production based cleaner where you’ll give the modules that make up our homes and lodges a complete clean throughout ready for their quality inspections.

Working at the tail end of our production line, you’ll be cleaning inside our modular built park homes that are almost at the point of assembly. Once our skilled trades people have finished the fit out you’ll be responsible for cleaning each module before it goes through a quality inspection, this will include;
  • Sweeping / Cleaning of hard floors
  • Wiping down all surfaces including skirting, architrave and doors
  • Cleaning windows inside and out – this means working at height on stepped access
  • Hoovering of carpeted areas

Hours of work: 36 per week
Monday – Wednesday: 06:00 – 18:00
Rotating with
Thursday – Friday plus either a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday: 06:00 – 18:00

Roof Tiler / Roofer

Working with metal tiles you’ll be responsible for all manual handling of materials so a good degree of physical fitness is ideal. You’ll work on standard roofing practices of felt > baton > tile along with fascia’s, soffits and guttering.

Carpenter

You’ll be working on 1st and/or 2nd fix applications on our modular builds of park homes and leisure lodges. To accommodate social distancing guidelines the current working shift pattern is:

Monday – Wednesday: 06:00 – 18:00
Rotating with
Thursday – Friday plus either a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday: 06:00 – 18:00

1st fix work includes:
• Building and assembling timber frame structures, floors, partition walls and roofs
• Prepping of internal door furniture and hinges
• Exterior/interior boarding and cladding

2nd fix work includes:
• Installing internal door frames and doors
• Skirting and architrave
• Snagging
